Stocks on the Rocks (SOTR) is a platform that is designed to create inclusive spaces for all to learn to build & maintain a healthy relationship with their money. We believe that everyone should have access to financial education, regardless of their background or financial situation. We have extended beyond this to provide Financial Services Intermediation Tools and Market/Business Opinion services to companies.
The SOTR platform offers a variety of resources, including:
- Educational content: We create informative and engaging content that assists people to better manage their personal finance, investments, and overall financial goals.
- Live events: We create and manage inclusive spaces designed to facilitate learning and relationship building with other like-minded individuals. We also host finance #grassroots events in vulnerable communities.
- Community: We manage a vibrant community spanning retail and institutional stakeholders. These communities facilitate knowledge sharing and foster an attitude of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Founder: SIMON JOHNSON, MSc
Simon Johnson is an Investment Banking professional with a passion for innovation, community development, and strategic problem-solving. He has worked at some of the largest investment houses in the Caribbean at various senior positions.
As a regional investment strategist, Simon leverages his experience, network, and knowledge to drive positive change and create lasting value within the region. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance and a Masters Degree in Economics (with a focus on development and financial economics) from the University of the West Indies Mona Campus in Jamaica. He also has a strong technical foundation in Economics and Finance and has successfully led cross-functional teams in the region.
Simon is passionate about financial inclusion and mental wellness.

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER: TREVAUGHN MORRIS
Trevaughn Morris is an Investment Professional with experience in research, portfolio management and fund’s administration.
He is also an educator with specific interest in finance and economics who completed his MSc in Economics and BSc. in Banking and Finance at the UWI Mona. With also an avid interest in investing, Trevaughn is also a former winner of the Owen James’ JSE Stock Market competition. He has over the years been involved in various entrepreneurial ventures contributing to their inception, marketing and execution.
Trevaughn also carries a wealth of knowledge and valuable insights in both public and private equity research/valuation.
